Foster's Pond Corporation

The Foster's Pond Corporation, at its Fall meeting on September 10, 2005, approved a new dues structure for 2006.

On a motion made on behalf of the Board of Directors and the Fundraising Committee, the members voted unanimously to establish annual dues in accordance with the following schedule:

  • Individual membership:  $25 per year for voting members, corporate members, and non-voting members;
  • Family membership:  $40 per year for family membership, which will qualify two adult members of the same household to enroll as members of the appropriate class; and
  • Sustaining membership: $100 per year, with the same rights as family membership.
The brief business meeting convened at 3 p.m. at 24 Foster's Pond Road.  The meeting was held outdoors during the Corporation's Pond-wide pot-luck picnic.  About 75 people turned out for the event.

President Steve Cotton opened the meeting by thanking hosts Mark and Maryellen Florio for opening their property to the community.  He also thanked Janet Kenney for coordinating the event;  Weed Committee Co-chairmen Dave Adilman and Mark Florio, and members Dick & Dottie Tyler, Steve Ellis, Kenney Tamarkin, and Paul Guerard for their work in getting the Sonar program going; Fundraising Committee Chairman Marty Rabinowitz and members Judy Lugus, Sandy Minkkinen, Janet Kenney, Steve Ellis, the Tylers, and Dave Brown for their successful efforts to raise the money to pay for the Sonar program; and Dam Committee chairman Paul Ross, along with Scott Fumicello, Rick Keller, and John Lugus for their work on the dam.  Dave Adilman and Mark Florio presented Steve with a plaque "in recognition of your tireless efforts & commitment to the preservation of Foster's Pond."

Treasurer Dave Brown reported 59 households had contributed $43,100 to the Pond Preservation Fund.  This included $1650 in pledges not yet received.
