Notes:
The Board of Directors has approved the treatment plan submitted by ACT. Here are the considerations that went into that approval.
1. Fosters Pond has responded well to Sonar treatment
2. Most ponds need whole-lake treatments every 2-3 years to control fanwort; weve gone 6 years
3. Weve had no adverse effects to fish or wildlife, and native plant diversity has increased
4. Sonar remains the only approved herbicide for fanwort, and the only practical control
5. Sonar is approved for use in public water supplies
6. Sonar is not effective against Brazilian elodea; diquat is (and is very widely used)
