3:15 p.m. to 3:25 p.m.
About 60 people attended the 2016 summer picnic and meeting of the Foster's Pond Corporation. It was the 12th annual FPC picnic.
The event was held at the home of Dave Brown and Trish Fleming, 31 Glenwood Road.
FPC President Steve Cotton called the formal meeting to order at 3:15 p.m. He thanked Trish and Dave, the officers and directors of the Corporation, and the numerous area residents who have volunteered on behalf of the Foster's Pond community.
Dave Brown gave the Treasurer's Report.
Steve reported that the Pond was treated for blue green algae July 21. He said that periodic sampling would continue during the warm weather, and that the Corporation was prepared to treat the Pond again if conditions warrant.
Steve also reported that the Foster's Pond Dam is scheduled to undergo a safety inspection in November, explaining that State law requires inspections every five years. He said the the FPC is responsible for the costs of hiring an engineering firm to conduct the inspection.
He reported that because of the ongoing drought, the water level in the Pond was too low for hydro-raking this fall. He said that our lake management consultant was prepared to undertake hydro-raking in the spring if there is sufficient participation from shoreline property owners.
The meeting was adjourned at 3:25 p.m.
