Under sunny skies, nearly 60 people attended the 2009 summer picnic and meeting of the Foster's Pond Corporation. It was a perfect summer day, with near-cloudless skies, a puff of breeze, and temperatures that led a bevy a kids to spend most of their time splashing in the Pond . The event was held at the home Helen Waldruff, 18 Willard Circle. It was the 5th annual FPC picnic, and one of the best-attended. FPC President Steve Cotton called the formal meeting to order at 3:30 p.m. After thanking Helen, event coordinator Judy Lugus, and the officers and directors of the Corporation, he reported that a number of residents have noticed pockets of fanwort throughout the Pond. He indicated that the Corporation would shortly undertake a formal assessment of the weed situation, and that another treatment of the entire Pond would likely be needed in 2010 or 2011.
